Call for Bylaw Committee Members: Operating Room Nurses Association of Ontario (ORNAO)
Are you passionate about governance and committed to strengthening the framework of a vital professional organization? ORNAO is seeking dedicated members to join our Bylaw Committee. This committee will play a crucial role in updating our bylaws to ensure they align with the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA).
About ORNAO:
ORNAO is dedicated to enhancing the expertise, advocacy, and professional development of operating room nurses across Ontario. Our bylaws are essential to our governance, and we are embarking on a crucial project to modernize them in accordance with ONCA requirements.
Position: Bylaw Committee Member
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with fellow committee members to review and assess the current bylaws.
Research and understand the requirements and best practices set forth by ONCA.
Develop and draft proposed changes to ensure compliance with ONCA and reflect the current needs of ORNAO.
Engage with ORNAO members to gather input and feedback on proposed bylaw changes.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of or experience with non-profit governance and bylaws is an asset.
Familiarity with the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA) is an asset.
Strong analytical and drafting skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A commitment to the mission and values of ORNAO.
Time Commitment:
The Bylaw Committee will meet regularly over the coming months, with an estimated commitment of 2 hours per week, including meetings and work on drafting changes.
