Are you passionate about advancing the profession of operating room nursing and have a knack for financial management? The Operating Room Nurses Association of Ontario (ORNAO), is seeking a dedicated member to join our Board of Directors as Treasurer.
Position: Treasurer
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the organization’s financial affairs, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulations.
Liaise with the ORNAO bookkeeper about financial matters.
Present monthly reports on ORNAO’s financial position.
Present the ORNAO year-end financials at the ORNAO AGM.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
Assist with financial planning and strategy to support the organization’s goals.
Qualifications:
Must be a Member of ORNAC/ORNAO.
A commitment to, and a clear understanding of the Mission of the organization.
Knowledge of meeting procedures, governance policies and by-laws of the Association.
Experience reading balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and relevant financial documents.
Understanding of rules and regulations of financial oversight in a not -for- profit association.
Sufficient time to devote to their primary duties.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Time Commitment:
The Treasurer position requires a commitment of approximately 4 hr a month, including attendance at Board meetings and occasional additional time for financial oversight and reporting.
Term of Office:
Two year term with a two year renewal option but must be nominated and elected for the second term.
